Over John’s 16 year career he has established a reputation as one of the most talented graphic artists in the country. In 1991 while working on a project for Detroit radio station WRIF, John met the “Motor City Madman” himself, Ted Nugent. John introduced himself as a fan and an artist. Nugent was interested in seeing samples, and was impressed with the portfolio. Soon after, Nugent commissioned Rios to design everything from stage props and backdrops to concert t-shirts and book covers. Mr. Rios’ recent work includes designing the stage backdrop for rock band Motley Crue’s 2009, Crue Fest 2 tour, and storyboards for a movie shot in Michigan this summer.
